Intermodality
Nick has spent the last 30 years minding the gap between the rail industry, local planning authorities and the outside world, helping retailers, manufacturers and logistics companies deliver more freight and interchange facilities to the network. Over the years Nick and team have had a hand in bringing Class 92 locos onto High Speed 1, fresh fruit from Spain, bottled water from France, whisky from Scotland, supermarket goods back to Central London, parcels back onto passenger trains, aggregates from Sussex and Suffolk, timber from Devon and waste from West London, Merseyside and Manchester. Along with 30 new operational railheads, including the iPort Doncaster Strategic Rail Freight Interchange.
